LUP re-developed this historic office building located in Seattle’s downtown Central Business District at 1012 1st Avenue. Originally built in 1891 as the home of the Standard Furniture Company, The Standard is one of the oldest masonry buildings in the City and was the first building constructed after the Great Seattle Fire of 1889.
32,000 Sq. Feet of Office + Cone & Steiner General Store
LUP restored the building to its original character and re-built the interior while bringing the building up to code. Today, one new additional penthouse floor was added, and the building is occupied by creative office users, along with Cone & Steiner General Store at the street, and is located two blocks from the Seattle waterfront.
The rehabilitation strategy focused on maintaining the existing character of the original building while modernizing structural, mechanical, electrical, life safety, and plumbing systems.
