By providing a substantial public benefit which includes close proximity to transit, quality retail shops, and 50% of the residential units are affordable housing, LUP is able to work directly with the Department of Ecology and Mt. Baker Housing on contamination mitigation strategies. This innovative approach to managing a complex environmental remediation effort allows LUP to develop a substantial project, both in residential unit count and retail square footage, on a previously undevelopable site. Currently under construction with an estimated completion date in Q3 2024.
